You’ll hear your boss saying “I need this size for this, this size for that”, normal. Honestly, resizing is a daily work routine for every graphic designer. Some materials are horizontal and others are vertical, some are bigger, and some are smaller. When I worked for an exhibition organizer, I had to resize the same design for different print materials like posters, brochures, banners, and event T-shirts. The solution is to resize the artboard area and make it smaller. Saving the logo as png or pdf when you want to print it on something is a must and certainly, you don’t want a large area of the empty background. For example, a logo is designed for use in many different presentations, on a business card, company website, T-shirt, souvenirs, etc. 3 Select the Edit Toolbar with a three-dot icon on the left pane of the application. It will allow you to select the file available on your PC. 2 Open your newly installed Adobe Illustrator and then click Open on the left pane of the application. Be aware to keep an eye on your Links panel (Window>Links) to make sure the resolution doesnt get too low as you make the image bigger.Adobe Illustrator is all about artboards! You can’t create a design without an artboard and often you’ll have to resize it for different purposes. 1 Download and install Adobe Illustrator from the official website of Adobe.
Both the frame and the image will now be stuck together and you can drag it as big or as small as you like.
Ok so this is the best way to have complete control, you can just hold down the Ctrl (Command on Mac) then also hold down the Shift key then simply grab the corner handle on your Adobe InDesign frame and drag it. This will scale proportionally it wont stretch your image at all so you can then use the hotspot to adjust which part of the image is visible in the Adobe InDesign frame. It scales the artwork just fine, but it doesnt erase the original art, so you end up with both the original and scaled images all mixed up with each other. then we are going to select the frame and look in to our InDesign Control bar at the top of the screen where there is a button that will scale the content of the frame to fit the frame. The first way is to use your main selection tool to make the frame the correct size that you want, dont worry about the image not moving with the frame just make the frame fit the space you require on the Adobe InDesign page.
